Your skills

Dude! We will cross the Atlantic Ocean together so you better know what you´re doing. You must be a skilled kite surfer in order to participate in this event. The crossing will take about 3hrs+ of nonstop kiting in high waves and strong winds. You can choose to use your Twintip or Surfboard. We advise you to train some down winders before the event and be in good physical shape.  If you suffer from sea-sickness or have trouble imagining yourself in 3 to 4 meter ocean swell, please come back to us when you feel ready.

Your availability

The holding period of the Event is from February 1st - 8th, 2018 and we will announce the exact day by the 1st of February 2018 when we have a clear weather forecast. For you that means you must be present on Sal or Boavista during that period. We strongly advise you to stay with us on Boavista and have yourself an amazing Holiday with our Crew and the Locals. Please find out more about your accommodation on Boa Vista here. We will also help you in organizing flights, apartments, transport and anything else you might need support with.

Your gear

If you are a 70kg rider you will probably use a 10sqm kite for the downwind. We advise you to bring an 8, 10, 12 and 14. You can choose to cross using a Twintip or surfboard. We advise you that during the crossing there is no possibility to change your mind regarding your board or kite choice. We will always leave overpowered in the morning as the wind is usually a bit weaker during midday when we arrive on Boavista. A long sleeve wet suit is recommended together with an impact vest, safety knife, hat, waterproof phone case, leash if you use a surfboard and a min. 1L water bottle you can attach to your harness or elsewhere. Safety comes first! Your gear must be in a very good shape. You will receive a packing list of essentials via email upon selection.
